slow to start

the third novel in the quartet started very slowly. Some of the procedures didn't seem to ring true, for example when human bones are found as in Scotland the Police have to be informed immediately. Tis didn't happen in the story.I didn't rate this book as highly as the first two in the series. I finished it quickly as the book was billed as being dramatised in 2 parts on the BBC. I shouldn't have bothered because the dramatisation was so far from the plot of the books as to be almost unrecognisable. It was set on a different island, characters were changed, the murderer turned out to be a different person. In the trailer for the TV show the author appeared saying it was great to see it dramatised and she hoped more people would read her books as a result. I would advise anyone thinking of doing so that they will get a shock.

Red Bones (Shetland 3)

Just finished Red Bones very slow , but very very hard to put down. I love these Ann Cleeves novels, although I've never been to Shetland, I feel I really know the place. It's hard to imagine Jimmy Perez isn't a real person even the picture of Sandy seemed so real. Can't wait to read the next book in the Shetland series.

A tale all about bones

I gave this book the highest rating as it was amazing from start to finish. The links to each family's past, which slowly came to light, was complex and unexpected. It was difficult to identify 'main characters' as each, and all were so interesting. Brilliant
