I remember the TV series of some years ago very fondly so thought hard before buying this book, even for 1p! So often a book and TV series have very little in common but in this case, what a delight! The series had stayed faithful to the book to the last character and being able to re live them at my own pace through the authors originals was bliss. Being transported to rural Ireland in a more gentle age while sitting on a crowded train was good therapy as well.

As amusing and clever as when I first read it over fifty years ago.
